<description>Interesting topic and one that I wrestle with whenever I produce a new book. Here&#039;s how I decide which friends and acquaintences to grace with a free copy of my book. Close friends get free copies. Those who are in a position to promote the book (it&#039;s a topic they are interested in, they know many others who would be interested in this book, etc), get free copies. Those with lots of friends and contacts and those who are particularly good at promotion, also get free copies.

I ask all of these people to write either testimonials or reviews which I use to promote my books at my website and in other circumstances.
